Part Three
Part A:
What significant information did I learn about these interviews?
The significant information I learned from these interviews has helped me to understand the way of life during The Great Depression. The women were not expected to do the same work that the men did. African American men were thought less of than caucasian ones. Also, the work that was expected to be done was in horrible conditions. Mrs. Elizabeth E. Miller's husband didn't think that sh could bring the pig in the house alone. Because she was a woman, she needed help.Furthermore, Jim Cole was descriinated against. Due to the color of his skin he was immediently put at a lower level than white men. Moreover, Mr. Garavelli Stonecutter worked in dangerous conditions. The silica dust caused the me around his to develope pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis.A vast majority of the workers died from it. The Great Depression was a very unpleasent time in history. Working conditions were far from decent and descrimination spread not only through race, but gender as well.
